Whenever I need to have blood pressure readings taken, I’m welcomed by Matron Elmarie who is always friendly and helpful. She always goes out of her way to provide efficient service, and there’s no cost for my reading.

In November 2022 after my knee op I availed myself of the facility offered to residents, to stay at the care centre, at no cost, for one week, after hospitalisation. During my stay I experienced the most committed, caring, and compassionate service from all the Care Centre staff. I consider privileged to have witnessed the excellent service the centre’s residents receive from the dedicated staff.

Having come out of hospital after an operation, I spent the next seven days in the Care Centre. This was a very good experience. Matron and her staff were very professional and friendly. I received excellent care over twenty-four hours a day.
This stay certainly contributed very much towards a speedy recovery. Thank you very much Care Centre.”

It’s the second anniversary of my stay at the Care Centre at the Village of Golden Harvest No 1. I’ve only praise for the service and cooperation from the pleasant nurses and carers. They always go out of their way to help. I receive special dietary meals prepared especially for me. Medication is always given on time. I make frequent use of the library and attend many of the village activities. I enjoy watching the village residents playing bowls. It reminds me of the times I played competitive bowls in Kimberly when I was a lot younger.

In September, a friend in the Village advised the Care Centre that I was ill. Within half an hour a Sister was at my cottage to check-up on me. Blood pressure, glucose count and my oxygen levels were taken. This was repeated the entire week, with such care and compassion, not only from the Sisters but also from Matron Elmarie when I phoned her to commend the level of care.

We recently required frail care facilities for a family member. Village of Golden Harvest 1 was our first choice but unfortunately, they were at capacity. We have 2 Moms in the frail care centre and we could not be happier with the care that they receive. Friendly, committed, caring and skilled staff provide such peace of mind to us about the wellbeing of our Moms both of whom have been there for several years. It really is home to them
Our association with the village goes back 19 years and we too are owners of a cottage. The village is managed by the most amazing, caring and approachable management team and board of directors. They ensure that the village is run with the wellbeing and requirements of all residents at the core of their philosophy. There are beautifully maintained gardens to enjoy, water supply is assured by way of a borehole and there are many social activities available to residents. It follows that our expectations of a similar facility with comparative cost, was high.
We were not successful in securing a facility of the calibre of Golden Harvest 1 and we were reminded of how fortunate we are to have our parents in such superior care. We are forever thankful.
Many thanks and kind regards

Our sincere gratitude for the past year since April 2025 ; the loving , caring and competent staff did an exceptional job ! My mother , 85 years old , was welcomed with kindness from day one . An honest and gentle warmness was received from the whole ; whether the gardens , staff , residents and all that makes up the Village .
One could call it the Village of Happiness . We were allowed to create a comfortable and homely setup in the Studio ; a semi-care unit . I do admit that the adjustment for my mother , moving from a spacious house on a beautiful plot to a retirement village , was not easy initially . Later on she became fond of the whole team ; she felt safe and lovingly care for . The rotation of head nurses and their teams , assured the required stamina and patience needed in their work . They were always willing to do the extra mile .
The resulting familiarity and friendship , or companionship growing between the nurses and my mother , was clearly due to their competence , kindness , righteousness , willingness and Godliness !
Yes , we all agreed on God`s daily grace and goodness . All our requests concerning my mother’s care , were respected – we could fully rely on the staff . Effort in each area of what were offered was real : The kitchen-staff preparing delicious and nutritious chosen meals , the Beauty-Salon offering hair- and nail treatments , the Indore-Sports stretching some joy into the joints , Filmnights in the cosy lounge , Braai on the terrace , the well stocked Library welcoming daily visitors …. and so much more pleasure proving spaces like the Bowling-Field or Swimming Pool or merely sitting on an inviting bench under „your“ quiet tree – simply to listen to natures whispers . It is now time for my mother to leave this memorable episode at VGH1 , with gratitude and appreciation .
Thank you dearly – may you see God`s Blessings and feel His Peace within , and may your good work prosper as you provide a safe Haven for the elderly .
Kind greetings ,
from all four children of Mrs E M Dreyer ( previous ST3 )
