On Saturday 27th January over fifty residents of the Golden Harvest No. 1 Retirement Village attended a breakfast presentation given by a village resident. Stan Simcox presented an informative talk about the art of Bonsai entitled “Bonsai through the ages.” His interesting talk commenced with a brief explanation about how Bonsai originated 1800 years ago in China before it was introduced to Japan in the 13th century. During his presentation Stan showed trees from his collection of twenty indigenous Bonsai trees. After answering many questions, Stan was given a thunderous round of applause.
